Privacy Policy for Hue: Mood Journal

Last Updated: October 13, 2026

Daniel Raherimanjato (“we”, “us”, or “our”) built the Hue: Mood Journal app (the “App”) as a Freemium app. This SERVICE is provided by Daniel Raherimanjato at no cost for the basic features, with optional premium features available via subscription or a one-time lifetime purchase, and is intended for use as is.

This page is used to inform visitors regarding our policies with the collection, use, and disclosure of Personal Information if anyone decided to use our Service.

If you choose to use our Service, then you agree to the collection and use of information in relation to this policy. The Personal Information that we collect is used for providing and improving the Service. We will not use or share your information with anyone except as described in this Privacy Policy.

Information Collection and Use

Your Journal Data is Private The core functionality of Hue involves logging your moods, writing journal entries, and adding photos. We do not collect, store, or have access to your journal entries, moods, or photos.

• Free Users: All your journal data is stored locally on your device using Apple’s SwiftData framework.

• Premium Users: If you enable iCloud Sync, your data is securely synced to your personal Apple iCloud account using CloudKit. We do not have access to your iCloud data.

Optional Apple Sign-In (version 1.5 and later) You can use Hue without signing in. If you choose Sign in with Apple, Apple supplies an app-specific user identifier and may supply your name and email address, including a private relay address if you choose Hide My Email. Hue uses these details to display and restore your saved Apple profile after checking your authorization with Apple.

The profile is stored in Apple’s encrypted Keychain. When iCloud Keychain is enabled and available, Apple can synchronize the saved profile to your other Apple devices. We do not receive these profile details on a Hue server or send them to RevenueCat. Hue does not store Apple passwords, identity tokens, authorization codes, or refresh tokens.

Signing out applies to this device. You can remove the saved profile in Hue Settings, which also removes its synchronized Keychain copies when synchronization is available. Journal entries are kept separately. You can revoke Hue’s Apple sign-in authorization in your Apple Account settings. Journal sync remains a separate, optional Premium feature and uses the iCloud account selected in device Settings.

App Update Checks (version 1.5 and later) Hue contacts Apple’s public App Store lookup service to check for newer versions. The request includes Hue’s App Store identifier and the country code used for the lookup. Apple also receives ordinary network information needed to service the request, such as your IP address. Hue does not include journal contents or saved Apple profile details in update requests. The app stores the latest result, check time, and dismissed update version locally. iOS controls automatic installation through your device’s App Store settings.

Usage Analytics Hue version 1.4 and later do not include TelemetryDeck and do not send screen views, mood check-ins, notes, photos, or context tags to a usage analytics service. Earlier versions of Hue may continue to send anonymous usage events through TelemetryDeck until you update the app.

Home Screen Widget The widget opens a new check-in. Your mood is hidden by default. If you choose to show your mood in Hue Settings, the app shares only the latest check-in date and mood score with its own widget through an Apple App Group on your device. Notes, photos, and context tags are never included in that shared summary. Turning the setting off removes the mood score from the summary.

Journal Exports Exports are created on your device. A complete JSON export includes notes, photos, mood entries, and context tags; CSV includes text and context; PDF includes notes and photos. Hue does not upload these exports to an analytics service. If you choose to share an export, the app or recipient you select receives that file.

In-App Purchases We use RevenueCat to manage in-app purchases and subscriptions. RevenueCat may collect anonymous data regarding your purchase history and subscription status to provide this service. RevenueCat does not have access to your journal data.
